As someone who attempts to archive and hang onto every recording I’ve ever made, I miss seeing an SDII option – but I acknowledge my minority status in this regard. It supports up to 32-bit resolution and sample rates up to 384 kHz, 7.1 channel surround, multitrack editing, and the standard cohort of formats, including WAV, WAV64, AIFF, MP4/AAC, MP3, OGG, FLAC, and WMA. Setting the source, destination, and file format was a breeze, and I ended up spending more time deciding where to put my files than Acoustica spent converting them.Įveryone has their own use cases for an audio editor, and Acoustica does an admirable job of covering all the bases. Without even spending much time with the manual, I typed “batch” into the search box in the help menu and found the Batch Processing Wizard. I’d purchased a digital download in FLAC format, for example, and hadn’t gotten around to converting those tracks into AAC format. I hadn’t been working with Acoustica for very long before I realized there were unfinished tasks on my hard drive that I’d been avoiding because the audio editor I typically use makes some jobs feel like a bit of a chore. You also have the option of saving an entire workspace, including all open files and layout, in addition to individual files. If you’re working with multiple files or sessions, they appear as tabs above the main view area for quick access. Each of these windows can be resized or rearranged by clicking and dragging, and layouts can be saved and reloaded as well. In the default layout the main waveform viewer takes center stage, with standard editing and transport buttons above, and various browsers, processors, and analyzers arranged along the bottom and right-hand edges. Acoustica fills this niche handily, offering a range of useful features for everything from sample editing to mastering in a tidy package that never feels over-designed or bloated.Īcoustica’s interface is inviting and engaging to use. We may spend most of our music production time in a DAW, but there are plenty of tasks that a leaner, more specialized tool is better suited to. A dedicated audio editing application can be an indispensable part of your creative workflow.

In the end I don't mind how it is stored or how secure it is as I will just have the backup on a NAS in my basement to be prepared when I brick my system again and as the desktop app doesn't allow to read old messages that were sent before the last installation, it would be really helpful to just load a backup.įor the worst case scenario I would also take a backup directly from the iPhone I use as primary device, but as far as I know this isn't possible as well. In addition, so far I didn't find out how to restore the chats from such a backup. On the Unix Stack Exchange I found this post on how to back up Signal chat history, but it is written for bash and has only limited useability as it only can backup already loaded chats, not force Signal to load everything. Seeing this, I thought that it should be possilbe to use it in another way that allows backups. To send your first message, tap the pencil icon on the main screen, and if any of your contacts are using Signal their names will pop up in an alphabetized list. So far the only way to use Signal on a Windows machine is to install their "Desktop version" which essentially is just a chromium browser package made with electron that runs their programme as a web application. I'd like to have a portable version of the Signal Messenger (packed like all the apps from or any other similar site) in order to be able to just copy a folder to an external hard drive so that in the future, if my main install gets corrupted I can just roll back to an old one, but there isn't. Here, a mix of air-to-air and air-to-ground armaments can be very helpful but note that the targets worth the most points are usually found in the air (those would be enemy bombers, transports, and airships). In Air Conflicts: Secret Wars players can relive the most famous battles of the First and Second World War right up close. ASMs can make short work of an airship, but otherwise, MLAAs are your best bet for taking down airship subsystems quickly and easily.Įach enemy destroyed is worth a certain amount of credits, and in Score Attack, you’ll need to destroy enough stuff to satisfy the mission parameters. This mission type has you hunt down several enemy airships. Keep in mind that EVERY mission will end with a dogfight against an enemy ace squadron, so make sure that every loadout includes some air-to-air weaponry. We'll go over each of them here as well as some recommended weapons. There are quite a few different types of missions you could face in Conquest mode. When you die, you lose everything except your Prestige points and whatever aircraft you’ve unlocked.īecause Alert Level is based on overall playtime, you're encouraged to complete each mission as quickly as possible to make sure your future missions don't become too difficult. As you gain Prestige, you’ll be able to purchase more capable craft that might have a hope in hell of taking you all 43 missions. You’ll start Conquest Mode with only the trainer aircraft unlocked. Credits can be used to purchase additional friendly units in the Hiring Den, while Prestige allows you to purchase bigger and better aircraft. Each completed mission will result in your air force “conquering” a section of Cascadia, and each mission will reward you with Credits and Prestige. The objective of Conquest Mode is to complete 43 missions in a single life. Just like the campaign, you can choose between Easy, Normal, Hard, and Mercenary difficulties, but unlike the campaign, choosing a higher difficulty results in greater payouts of Prestige and Credits at the end of each mission. Conquest Mode is available right from the start if you don’t care about the main story, but you really should play through the campaign at least once in order to avoid spoilers. Japan Studio, who assisted with the development of the original game, also assisted Bluepoint Games for the remake. After Miyazaki and FromSoftware, the development studio of the original game, gave their approval, Bluepoint Games began development of a remake following completion of its 2018 remake of Shadow of the Colossus. In 2016, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of the original Demon's Souls, acknowledged the demand for developing a remake but said that because the intellectual property (IP) belonged to Sony, the inception of such a project would depend on their desire to do so. The character creation feature has also been updated, with more options for customization. Although the Souls series is notorious for its difficulty, Bluepoint stated that the remake would not introduce different difficulty levels. Filters from the photo mode can also be used during gameplay, including a "classic mode" filter intended to evoke the look of the original PlayStation 3 game. The game also includes a photo mode, whereupon using it the game will pause, something not possible in the original. One new feature, called "Fractured World", is a mirror mode which reverses the layout of environments. For example, in the original game, healing grasses have no weight, so players could potentially carry hundreds of them in the remake, these healing items now have a weight associated with them so that the amount players can carry is significantly lessened, and more potent grasses weigh more than less effective ones. As with the original, players are limited in how much they can carry before their character becomes encumbered, although some aspects of this encumbrance system have been adjusted. The game features new weapons, armor, rings and items called "Grains" which give players a temporary resistance to effects like poison, fire, and bleeding.
